Every year teaches us something new in this industry, and 2025 was no exception. As we head into 2026, I’ve been reflecting on where the market is heading and what we’re seeing from homeowners, designers, and builders across Canada.
One of the biggest shifts we’re noticing is the renewed love for natural stone. Granite, marble, and quartzite are being appreciated again for their authenticity, their movement, and the one-of-a-kind beauty you can only get from nature. It’s refreshing to see clients gravitating back to real stone and choosing materials that make every kitchen or bathroom feel personal.
At the same time, we’ve been putting a lot of energy into the engineered side of the business. Our Toronto Granite Signature Quartz line has been growing, and it’s something I’m proud of. These full-body printed quartz designs were inspired by some of our favourite natural looks like Taj Mahal, Lancome White, and the Calacatta styles that never go out of fashion. It’s been exciting to offer homeowners these designs with durability and consistency.
Porcelain and sintered materials are also continuing to evolve. Options like Coverlam by Grespania have pushed the limits of what’s possible in large-format surfaces, and the technology behind them just keeps improving. They’re opening new doors for designers and builders.
Of course, materials aren’t the only thing shaping 2026. The economic climate still plays a huge role. Interest rates continue to influence whether people feel comfortable investing in renovations, and we’re hoping that stability will bring back some of the projects that have been on pause.
Tariffs have also had an indirect impact. When people lose jobs or have less disposable income because of economic pressures, renovation spending slows down. Even so, our partners in the U.S., especially MSI Quartz, have been incredibly reliable, well-stocked, and fair with pricing. Those relationships matter a lot in times of uncertainty.
Hiring remains challenging too. Skilled fabricators and installers are harder to find these days, so we’ve focused more on training from within and taking care of the team we have. Once you build a strong crew, keeping them becomes just as important as finding them.
If we had to sum up the biggest lesson from 2025, it would be adaptability. Technology, materials, the economy – everything is shifting all the time. The companies that stay flexible, creative, and willing to evolve are the ones that continue to grow.
Here’s to another year of craftsmanship, innovation, and creating beautiful spaces for our clients.
